O provedor do Chicago Tribune está de saída, depois de 37 anos de actividade no jornalismo. E deixa a função com saudades dos leitores:

“Writing this column has been a particular delight. I like thinking problems and issues through in print and engaging in dialogue with smart, savvy readers. I'm going to miss that.”

E também assinala um movimento destes (e dos anunciantes) para a Internet.

"These are not happy times in the news business. Between self-inflicted wounds like Jayson Blair, Jack Kelley and Dan Rather and the economic uncertainty created by the migration of readers and advertisers to the Internet, it's hard to see where the future of the business lies and what it holds."
